MOTOGP FEEDS WILL BE TURNED OFF ON THE BOARD FRIDAY, MAR 28

So who is going to do the deed this weekend? After Qatar, I'm really looking forward to the show and to see what shakes out. Nicky's getting the new bike this weekend but the pundits are predicting Daniboy PeePeedrosa to run at the front. I can't wait to see if Lorenzo backs up his performance at Qatar, how King James runs and if anybody has anything for Stoner and the Ducati?

What's your prediction?

mrmega
03-28-2008, 06:07 PM
Well I am gonna say it is NOT gonna be Rossi.

Hmmm... Lorenzo and I haven't made up my mind about the rest though..... prolly PeePee too.

I would like to see Hayden, Stoner and ............

Guintoli

But I know one of them isn't gonna make it (hmmm could it be my boy who is on the crappy DUC ;) ?)

Hayden prolly has the best shot at the 3 of them as far as a podium.

I'll be watching it. But what I'd like to know is why i can't start a new thread? Is there a point in being here if all you can do is wait for someone to post something you want to reply to?

Members have to have 5 posts to start a thread. If you are from the speed boards, use the contact link at the bottom of the page and let em know whats up.

OR... me and you can just swap posts until you reach 5

Thats a plan! I see Rossi is motoring. Has Yamaha finally got their finger out?

Unfortunately for me, I have to say that Rossi is going to be competitive this season. He just needs to get acquainted with the stones.

I don't think he has a chance in h3ll at the title, but I can see him 3rd or 4th this season.

Next season? If he gets on a good bike I think we will see a very determined and mad doctor raping tracks all over.

Theres no doubt he has the desire. But looking at Yamaha vs. Ducati last year the Ducati had a lot more power. I was surprised that Yamaha and Honda have not responded with a Duck killer.

mrmega

Yeah me too. I did see an interesting interview with the Doc that someone at speed pointed us to, he comments on the bike a bit. I thought it was a great read:

I was actually shocked that Yamaha and Honda blew it last year. ANd it doesnt look like either can consistently give Stoner anything this season. I think next year could be the best season ever.

Think Rossi will sign with Yammie again?

PS: Yaaay I am at 5 and you will be soon too!

Woo Hooo!

Glad to be here!!!!

How insulting and mean and nasty can we be? Can we just go OFF whenever we dont like something?

Can we throw things?

Can we set fires and riot and discriminate and offend and be REALLY politically incorrect?

I don't really want to do ALL of these things, but a few would sure be fun!!!! :p

Ok just kidding of course :D

I will try to support your forum whenever possible. Be advised that I will be gone for fairly long periods of time (as measured on the net of course) here and there, but I will keep coming back!

I thought Rossi had signed a multi-year deal with Yamaha. I was very surprised that neither of them responded to Ducati last year. It seems that they can at least see Stoner for a few laps now. It was interesting to see Rossi take the lead for a few laps. Is that a hint of whats to come? Assuming Yamaha gets it sorted out.

mrmega

I am pretty sure Rossi's deal with Yamaha is in its last year and he talks in that article I mentioned about starting to negotiate a new deal maybe around summer time.

Even though I am a rabid Rossi hater, I was very glad to see him on a competitive machine again. Seeing what he and Lorenzo have done so far between the pre season, race #1 the the practices for Jerez, I really7 belive the Yam is a competitive bike again this year.

I do think the Doc made a big mistake by going with the Bridgestones for two reasons

1) He has very little data with the stones and the Yam
2) I truly believe that Michelin lost so much face last year that they are tripling their efforts and I really think the tire manufacturers will be much closer.

If I had to bet right now I think Lorenzo is going to finish a little bit higher than Rossi at seasons end.

I think Stoner will take it with Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Rossi scrapping for 2nd, amongst themselves.

I would love to say that Hayden will be back in the mix but for whatever reason I don't think that is going to happen. I think he will be lucky to finish 6th or so.

My best guess is that after this year Rossi will have the package he deserves and will be the man to beat next season, but I think it will be very close between Lorenzo, Stoner, Pedrosa and Rossi and maybe even one or two other guys. If this speculation is right, I think next season will be the most exciting ever!!!!

Not that this year will be boring by a long shot.

Shoot it is still very early and who knows what can happen.

The big question I have is WTF happened to Melandri? I really thought he would do better with the DUC.

Right now its just you and me as far as "Jr. Doobettes" go. If we're too nasty and insulting and one of us gets tossed it will reduce the population by 33%. I see BCM440 is here as well. So far theres no one to be nasty to. Maybe they'll invite Sin2rhyme and then we'll have a target. Do you think RobertoRolfo will get here?

Oh young Doober. I'm sure you are just kidding, otherwise, if it gets too rowdy around here, you're going to receive a bonk, a hit on your reputation or an actual infraction. I'll try to not just wipe out your post like it never happened (like some places I've heard of) unless it really pisses me off. In cases where a post can be edited, a the offending text removed and you will get a bonk!

I'd love to just make a post in the forum, but I'm sure that would be a bannin'! Even though I never posted much "over there" I've been reading you guys for years. I'm gonna hit up some of the F1 gang too.

The Jr. Doobette thing is an automatic title depending on your number of posts. This field should be editible in your UserCP, if you feel like changing it.

Pretty funny. :D The Moderators around here aren't worth a damn! :o

I don't know. After just one race, I'm really on the fence about what's going to happen this season. I was really suprised by Lorenzo and Dovi AND Toseland. Are Peeboy and Lorenzo going to spar at the front and is Mr. Do No Wrong ever going to have a mechanical or get off? It's just too early to say. I will say that I think the competition will be better this year.

I am making a prediction right now that Nicky will be in Melandri's seat at Ducati next year. I think the bike would suit him as evidenced by the way Stoner rides it. Marco just doesn't get it yet.

What?? We gotta talk about MotoGP??? Thats no fun. Rossi's gonna win. I read that Stoner is having trouble getting his set up right. Must be that Italian tuning! The bike is perfect. Lets make it better!!

OOOooooo! Veddy interesting! Go Colin Edwards, eh?

It looks like Nicky is getting a second row start and I'm thinking he might like the new bike better but I suspect he'll be further down the list at race pace. So the predicted Lorenzo/Pedrosa battle may actually happen but I'm getting a vibe that one or both of them will toss it before the checkers? Rossi is about a second off Lorenzo's times.

And what I said earlier about Melandri? Results speak. :)

Its a Spanish GP. The spaniards are going to want to impress so I got the feeling they are going to get in their own way and Rossi is going to rub their noses in it.

mrmega
03-29-2008, 09:43 PM
You know what? That is a great point about the Spaniards, I hadn't thought about that possibility. They may very well pave the way for someone else to run away with it.

In spite of their qualifying positions I think Hayden will (unfortunately) finish closer to 10th and I think Stoner will finish closer to 4th or 5th tomorrow.

Its probably just wishful thinking on my part. But if you were riding in your home GP you'd want to be the winner. I wouldn't rate Stoner that low though. I admit to being a Rossi fan (No fanboy please). He showed a moment at Qatar. Maybe he can make the moment last a whole race.

Oh My!

Daniboy runs away with it and was never challenged. My questions were answered about when was Stoner going to make a mistake and a very solid 4th by Nicky and a great save.

Capirossi's last corner smashing pass to take 5th was great. Nice the see the Suzuki's looking good. Even Hopper on the Kaw was respectible.

Nice ride by Valention too. He's damn lucky Lorenzo didn't eat him for lunch, when he thought he took the checkers on the last lap.

Two weeks to go for Estoril. Can't wait! :)

I was surprised to see minime run that hard. Good to see Yamaha have given Rossi a bike that runs. And GREAT to see Nicky come in from the hayfields. I guess the Italians should have left well enough alone. Too much tuning!!
