The most reliable source of news in the world, MCN is reporting today that Hayden "fears he could be axed from the Repsol Honda squad".

No shit Sherlock.

Nicky has always been the perfect company mouthpiece, never saying a bad word about Honda ever, even when totally justified to do so. His downhome southern gentleman demeanor has gone overboard on more than several occasions and I actually think it may have come back to bite him in the ass in the long run.

The writing is on the wall, Nicky, and if you think for a minute that Dovi won't take your seat next year, then wake up! If there's a chance in hell of a deal with Ducati, take it and never look back.

As of this posting, it is unclear if Nicky will run the pneumatic this weekend at Donington. I say "why not"! Stand up and make some demands from Honda and stop being so damned polite all the time.

Honda silent on Nicky Hayden future

Honda bosses have refused to confirm that Nicky Hayden’s place in its factory team is under serious threat for the 2009 MotoGP world championship.

Hayden told today’s MCN that he fears he could be axed from the Repsol Honda squad unless his results drastically improve with the American scoring only three podiums in his last 25 races heading to this weekend’s British MotoGP.

As long as he can find a decent ride, leaving Honda would be the best thing that could happen to his career. I really hope he can land the Ducati ride, he's one of the few that I think could make use of it. He'll turn laps until they make it work, rather than a Melandri who will decide it won't work and turn the fewest laps of any rider at a test.

Hasn't worked for him the last 2 years tho... but one can only hope at this point.

Crash.net -
Repsol Honda's 2006 world champion Nicky Hayden will ride the factory's new pneumatic-valve RC212V all through practice, qualifying and racing during the three days of the British MotoGP at Donington Park, Crash.net has learned.

The 26-year-old American will have two of the new high-revving bikes at his disposal, and will not alternate between the pneumatic-valve machine and the existing valve-spring factory bike.

Gotta try something new at this point...

Hey remember who made the last 990 protype work when no one else wanted it? I'm looking forward to bigger and better things soon if not sooner! Nicky seems to be at peace with it. He needed a brain massage at this point to get his confidence back. This otta do it. Hopin he doesn't worry about Immediate results yet. It'll come. Especially to those who wait for it.

They were saying pre-season that the spring engine in the '08 chassis threw off the weight distribution, hopefully this could help the handling as well as adding power.

That's why Pedrosa had a new chassis @ Catalunya that he "requested"... I guess Nicky didn't fill out the right forms to get one, or maybe the inbox was too full from other Pedrosa wants. ;)
