Please join us for live posting during qualifying and the race. Too bad it's not live on Speed but hopefully, things will be back to normal soon.

One more race after this (Hockenheimring) and it's back to live for the Hungaroring.
This will also be the last British Grand Prix for David Coulthard who will be retiring at the end of the season.

I don't usually get up for Friday practice but here I am and what a morning! Silverstone out and a Tilke redesigned Donington in as home of the British GP in 2010. Wow!
It seems Massa spun in oil and destroyed his car. Hopefully they will get their spare tub built up for tomorrow. I notice that according to the schedule in this post, practice should be over but there's an hour left. Maybe I better confirm it?

Schedule times for Friday are off but Saturday is correct.
When I first tuned in, they said Massa would be lucky to get his car rebuilt before tomorrow but somehow he's fixed and on track?

Okay, this never happens...
I was half dreaming when I went to bed last night and couldn't remember if the race started at 5:00 or what and didn't want to miss the pre-race so set the clock and the on-timer in the bedroom TV to 4:30.
Television comes on, alarms go off and I realize it's something like 2 Guys Garage or something so I shut everything off, reset the timers for 5:00 and go back to sleep because I'm a little groggy.
5:00am comes and it's the same drill but the race still isn't on so once again, I shut everything off and go back to sleep.
At 6:15, about the time I normally get up, I awaken startled and fuzzy and cussing up a storm because I have missed the beginning of my first GP this season. It is only at this point that I realize that the damn race is on broadcast TV and not on until 10:00 my time. I feel like an idiot.
It's just me and the dog in the house this weekend and since I had 5 beers while watching the NASCAR race Saturday night (which I enjoyed) I decided what the heck and crawled back under the covers.
I just got up at about 8:45 and don't know the results from Silverstone yet. I think I'm just going to keep off dooberville.com and stay spoiler free until the show starts in about 45 minutes.

Rosberg starting from pit row. 1 stopper??
Here come the lights! Crap! Webber backwards. Nice charge by Luham but good job by Kovi holding him off. Massa off! OMG! DC & Vettel off. Wow!

Massa off again. Heikki holding off Hamilton for now but the visibility must completely suck. Hambone is wanting the lead bad and he just takes it. Hang on to it Lewis!

Kovalainen falling into the clutches of Raikkonen and Alonso closing on in on the Ferrari after passing Heidfeld. Bob said Lewis is suspected to have two more laps of fuel than his teammate.

Where did Kimi go? Uh Oh. Heikki was off and now has Alonso on his ass. Kimi is up to 2nd.

Sutil takes a nice litle flight. :ack2:
They're calling for more rain in 5 min. Some parts of the track are starting to look drier but other parts are still pretty soggy. With the first round of stops coming up soon, I say they'll go back out on intermediates?
ÜberDoober

Heikki in. Rain has started again.
Cool thermal image. Heikki back out on inters.

Alonso pits from 3rd but oddly doesn't change tires at all. Very strange.
ÜberDoober
07-06-2008, 11:45 AM
Leaders in. No tire change for the Ferrari either. Hamilton puts on a new set of intermediates. Lewis still beats Kimi out of the pits.

Dang commercials!
Looks like McLaren's decision to go with the new rubber is really paying off. Heidfeld comes out of nowhere to get around Heikki and Kimi both!
Fisichella in the kitty litter.

Hamilton still leading but Heidfeld and Kubica running 2nd & 3rd. That's pretty cool.
Getting down to the last stint with another round of stops for the guys on a 2 stop strategy.
ÜberDoober
07-06-2008, 12:12 PM
Oh man, it's a lot wetter now.
Everybody is going off. Bring LuHam in now guys!
ÜberDoober
07-06-2008, 12:15 PM
Jeebus. LuHam pits and takes another set of intermediates instead of full wets. Was that a huge mistake?
ÜberDoober
07-06-2008, 12:20 PM
20 to go and Kubica is on the beach. :(
Rosberg takes his front end off.

10 to go and people are still spinning like mad. Unreal.

Hamilton laps Raikkonen and Alonso. Just keep it on the road Lewis and the race is yours.

Hamilton takes his home GP. I'm glad to see him come back after a few bad races and that should quiet down the press a bit.
Ruebens podiums for Honda. Amazing!
Hamilton, by a mile
Heidfeld
Barrichello
Raikkonen
Kovalainen
Alonso
Trulli
Nakajima
This sure makes the championship interesting!
Time for Indycars!
