Woo Hoo! After waiting 34 days, my new rebuilt carburetor finally arrived! It's a beauty too. Everything is all brand new, all the vacuum pots and even the two electric solenoids and electric choke including the exact factory connector. Lifetime warranty. $179.95, $40.00 core charge and $20.00 shipping.

I am hoping to find my missing 15 MPG.

Waiting for a new factory bent hose for the PCV valve but might get the new carb bolted up in a few days? I'm sure enough pleased with the look of the thing and can't wait to see it if helps.

Job Done!

There were a few minor differences between the new and the old carb where the vacuum lines hook up and the new one was missing a little hook to hold the return spring. Swap a few parts, bolted it in and now she runs like a brand new car! Educated (lucky) guess on the hose routing and it was right the first time.

Seriously, I thought it died when I came to a stop it's idling so smooth and quiet. No more mega rich fuel smell, no major surging and bucking on closed throttle decel. Not a hiccup throughout the rev range. With the new engine only 18 months old and the new carb, I bet I sail right through emissions next time.

The true test will be when I run out the full tank of gas I put in and see what my mileage is. I was averaging 34.5 until this problem started and for the last six months, I've been getting 19/20.

It sure runs good and was pretty easy. Thanks to our Doober, kelstr, that supervised the operation and provided technical advice as needed. :cheers2:
