So, what's it going to be this week?
Richmond's crashfest all over again?

I am totally going to miss qualifying on Friday night. I am attending a going away party somewhere over in BFE Phoenix for a guy on my local motorcycle riding board.
I'll be here for the race on Saturday night though so y'all come down. I'll see if I can get an announcement posted up for the event?
I'm not sure exactly what to think of the last couple of races? It has been nice that the schedule has been tight without a lot of downtime between races - they've come fast and furious and that's good for keeping the interest up but the racing itself has been rather, well, interesting.
I guess more wrecks are to be expected with more cars on the grid and for the fan that may be coming from NASCAR, that might not be such a bad thing to get them entertained and watching but dang, we're lucky that there haven't been more serious injuries or worse. I won't even mention all the bent up machinery.
All in all though, I think the single series is gaining momentum and popularity. Can't say putting it up against NASCAR at Chicagoland is the best programming decision ever made but the Indycars should be over in plenty of time to catch the end of the Cup race.
So, here's hoping that Nashville will be a reasonably clean race without a lot of long long yellows for cleanup in aisle 3. :)

I was out much of Friday hence my absence. I did catch some of the first practice session. Looks like AGR is going to have a good race tonight with DP on the front row, Mutoh 3rd and you know Marco and Tony will make their moves up the field even on a tough track to pass on here. I actually have a DP win. Won't be easy but just a hunch. Wouldn't be too disappointed if Helio can follow his first pole of the year with his first win of the season both for his sake and for tightening the points battle.
Great qualifying run for RHR. While they have run well with just the single car this year, I'd love to see how they'd fare with a well-funded 2nd car.
The whole story with Roth is just laughable. If this ends up being Roth's (the driver) last hurrah as a full-time driver, I'm willing to live with it if it means that he develop a solid two-car team with one vet (ex. J. Andretti) and one up-and-comer (ex. Howard). If not, as they mentioned during practice, bring in an overseer of the race operation.
If he doesn't end up getting tossed again, the Curry hire is a big help for DRR to battle in the midfield.
It stinks that Viso isn't here. He's been worth the price of admission. I wish him well in his recovery from the mumps.
PCM is going to contest the remaining races this season except Kentucky.

There was a rain shower that delayed the start of the FIL race by nearly two hours. The race completed about a half-hour ago with Ana Beatriz getting the victory. The top 6 in points, Antinucci, Matos, Beatriz, Battistini, Arie Jr, Hildebrand, are separated by just 58 points (50 points for win).
Btw, Beatriz is managed by Andre Ribeiro.

Ok. Had a few technical difficulties there for a minute and thought I would have to rely on the TV broadcast.
It's all good now! :)

Here we go.
Too bad for Marco. I was just going to post they made it 3 laps with out a crash, but I was wrong.

Marco just lost it. Shame for Briscoe.

07-12-2008, 06:24 PM
Yeah, there wasn't a whole lot either driver could do there. He would have saved it in all likelihood without Briscoe as mentioned.
Grr, stupid slow computer.

Sounds like they may be racing against the weather.
Danica holding her own and almost looking racy, dare I say it. After Dixon called her "a menace", I wonder how comfortable he is next to her? :)

Okay boys and girls. Let's get everybody cycled through their stops and keep the green flag out!
YOU CAN DO IT! :)

She just has a knack for this track for some reason.
Wow, that was some frantic action there.

Nice piece on the TV about Pancho Carter spotting for Vitor Meira.
Sounds like they can see lightning?

It's pouring. They'll call it for sure.
All in all though, pretty watchable event. Not a lot of stupidity and some crazy passes. I'll have to give it to Chip.
I'll take this opportunity to say goodnight and thanks for stopping by once again. I'm starving and need to run out for something to eat. I'll keep an ear out and if by some miracle they come back for 30 laps, I'll be back.
Hey! NASCAR is on, I think I'll put it on while I take a shower.
Have a good weekend, LAg.

Thanks, it was a pleasure once again. I wish I could have gotten more in but the computer is slow tonight. See ya. :seeya:
