Ben Spies needs a... Media coach.

Ya know, he's not the most personable guy in the world and seems pretty dull or grouchy most of the time or something? Can't quite place what it is, maybe it's just his personality, but I don't see myself ever being very fond of him. He never seems happy and at best is kind of meh and acts like he is being interrupted by the media asking questions. Greg White or that other doofus, I can understand, but Ben is rarely upbeat. Positive, yes but a warm sort of guy, no.

I actually think Ben has an extremely professional approach to the media. He seems keenly aware that they can make or break ya. He is very cautious when he speaks and offers pretty much stock "media hype". It is as if he has been coached. I agree he does not make a very personal impression as a result but this is a critical point in time for him and he "should" be carful. Maybe later in his career he will feel comfortable in establishing a persona like Nicky and Vale.

IMO he is handling things perfectly for the time and circumstances presently.
