A little late getting started again this week but boy is this going to be a good one! FINALLY, Paul Tracy will be back in a race car. Not that I'm expecting much, maybe a few spins and the opportunity to once again punt and Andretti off the track but these are exciting times!

I just had the biggest grin seeing the early leader in P1. :)

Session 1 of practice is over. Castroneves with a quick lap of 1:02.9327.

There were quite a few spins in P1 and one involving contact (according to the T&S notes, at least) for Viso who suffered rear end damage and missed the rest of the session. Townsend Bell had two spins that halted practice. Tracy was 7th with a 1:03.3745 who spun late to end the session along with a stalled/spun Bernoldi.

Viso did not participate in P2 due to repair for damage in P1. There were a couple of moments including Tracy locking up the rears going into T10 and nearly hooking it into the barriers hard. Fortunately, he only suffered a broken wing. Junqueira bounced over something out of T4, iirc, and broke the rear suspension. Bell spun out twice more. Danica and Marco nearly came together but Marco managed to avoid a spinning DP.

Well, it looks I'm going to be out of it until the day of the race. :mad: I have to work onsite during qualifying then get a ride from my g/f over to the shop where I'm working on my bike to finish up the work that didn't get done yesterday. I was out all day yesterday and if it wasn't for being able to keep up with what has been posted here and at SPUDtv, I'd be completely in the dark about what's going on. (thank you!)

This wasn't the plan. I took all day yesterday to catch up on some bike maintenance then ran into a small parts problem. I worked outside all day until 5:00 and by the time I got home, I was completely exhausted. It was only like 109º and for an old lady that sits in front of computer with air conditioning all day, it was pretty rough.

It shouldn't take more than an hour to finish up now that I have the right parts but then I have to get my grandson for the weekend and go grocery shopping. I'll be lucky to get home by 6:00pm. :ack2:

Sorry to whine. It sounds like there's some good stuff going on that I am going to miss today and I'm bummed.

I missed the first group. Apparently, Rice had an accident but should be able to make qualifying. Mutoh had a crash in Group 2 practice.

There was a T&S issue in Group 1. They used the wrong timing line apparently. That also cost them a set of tires.

Mutoh stopped on course in Group 2. That will cost him.

Power, Moraes, Wheldon, Kanaan, Rahal, Bernoldi make it into Group 2. Hunter-Reay and Tracy lose out due to a late yellow.

Kanaan's excursion must have hurt the car bad enough that he's not in session 2. Wilson hit the wall somewhere and he's out the rest of the session. If he makes it through, he won't be able to participate in the Top 6.

Good job by Penske. KV with another solid performance. Should be a great battle between those two teams and Dixon. Also interesting to see how Tracy and Kanaan can make moves up the field. Can't wait for tomorrow. :)

Congrats to Dixon for win #5 of the season. Tracy pips Servia on the last lap for 4th. Wilson finally gets a run he deserves on the roadies.
