I can't wait until it cools off so I can wear my BLACK leather jacket again!

FHP urges motorcyclists to wear bright colors
Think neon green chaps — for safety
BY MICHAEL SANSERINO St. Petersburg Times

BROOKSVILLE — Perched on a stool at Crossroads Bar & Grill, Larry Obonnon stroked his handlebar mustache and looked over several fliers for a state campaign encouraging motorcyclists to wear brighter colors.
One flier, titled "Green Eyed Monster,'' featured a man wearing shades, a black leather jacket and, stunningly, neon green chaps. Obonnon shook his head in disgust.

"I've been riding since the 1960s," said the gray-haired Obonnon, clutching a Budweiser, "and this stuff here ain't going to change a thing.''

Y'know, I'm a big fan of wearing "Neon" green, yellow, or orange/red stuff while riding. I've been seeing quite a few bright-ass green sweatshirts areound town lately and whish I could find one in 3XL myself.

That said, I ride mega-miles all the time, and inevitably, any protective jacket or whatnot is gonna get splattered with enough road funk that it's gonna be black-ish in no time at all.

I do have a Joe Rocket jacket in bright orange, and so far it's held up against UV fading, but keeping it "clean" is a study in futility.

So, my favorite riding gear is still that funky old black leather jacket. We've seen many a mile (and bug, and oil film, and rainy day road spray) together.
