I like it when roadracingworld quotes superbikeplanet. :)

Our friends at http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/DooberRoni/miniswr.jpg (http://www.southwestrides.com/vbulletin/) who seem to be fans of the DMG believe this is the beginning of the end. http://www.southwestrides.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=82731#post82731
Many seem to think the same. There is no CART/Indycar comparison as everyone loves to make - CART was huge, motorcycle racing isn't (in this country). I think there is probably room for both if they don't try to hurt each other, with one viewed as the premier class and a lesser series (DMG's production bikes seem ideal for this in my eyes). We had that in the old Formula USA days and year's ago there were several pro series in the UK.
That said, Edmondson already seems to be trying get people in his corner against the MIC.

The latest story at rrworld is an interview with the GM of Infineon raceway that brings up a few good points. He claims the MIC deal is all smoke and that the DMG has put numbers in front of him. Smoke is smoke whether it has numbers or not.
While clearly RRW's crew are AMA/DMG fanboys, I find the posturing between superbikeplanet and them quite interesting. If, as some speculate, the whole MIC proposal is a bluff, what do they stand to gain at this point? Reconciliation with the DMG and the exact rules package they want?
At any rate, this whole debacle has added a new level of interest in American road racing, eh?

Announcement.
With another day or so for the DMG/MIC debacle to sink in and after reading all the articles and opinions both pro and con, we wish the MIC/USSB the best of luck in their new series and have hopes that what they propose clearly succeeds as indeed, it sounds like the "premier" racing series we want to watch.
Although our home website, www.dooberville.com (http://www.dooberville.com/), is a news aggregator with stories from many "real" motorsports news sites, we've also got the cornball comments provided by yours truly where we have no compunction about posting biased opinions. For reasons solely our own, we are therefore throwing our official support behind the USSB series and will do what we can to promote and support their events.
This may be a premature decision as some still think the whole thing is a bluff trying to force Edmondson's hand but we suspect or at least hope it is not. In a perfect world, differences between the MIC and the DMG could be reconciled and we wouldn't be in a split situation but since it seems likely that both sides will not be getting together soon for a group hug, we're going to stick our neck out and get in line with the USSB gang.
Some here are fans of the DMG's plan and we have no problems with that. Your opinions and told-you-so's if it doesn't work out are always welcome. We would like both series to succeed in their respective realms; top level racing with the USSB and top level club/spec racing with the DMG making a good feeder series.
We will be contacting the USSB organization and getting their okay to put a link and small free advert on our website and whatever other promotional things we can work out and get on their list for press releases so we will know stuff when RRW and Soup do. It could be good for the community here and it would be something we would be trying to do for our preferred vision of American roadracing.
As a 20+ year member of the AMA, I really feel no loss that the intended "real" premier roadracing series will no longer be sanctioned by my little club. Sure, there's some history and prestiege with being the AMA Superbike Champion but when the mark for that title has been set to a lower standard, does it really matter anyway?
Happy Doobering!

Edmondson has come out and just called Suzuki cheaters
http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=34166
He also goes on to insinuate that Suzuki wanted to bribe him or something?
“Three times we were asked by principals of Yoshimura Racing what it would take to make this whole thing go away,” Edmondson told Roadracingworld.com. “Typically, that is not the kind of thing you hear when people are negotiating in good faith and trying to work toward a resolution of an appeal.
He's really not making many friends, is he?

As posted in the "End of the World" thread, Ned points out that Soup has two stories of Honda's Ray Blank meeting with Roger Edmondson and that things "went well".

I thought Honda was in the USSB camp? Does this mean there is a possibility of one unified series or that the whole USSB thing was indeed a bluff? On WindTunnel last night, Despain said the same thing that the rumormongers were saying that Honda and Suzuki were behind the USSB, Kawasaki was sitting on the fence and that Yamaha was committed to the DMG.
There's no doubt that this whole thing is a complete and total clusterfark at this point.
