Whoa! Almost missed it!
Timing was messed up for about half the first free practice but sorted itself out soon enough. Not that it is worth a hill of beans but here's the times for the first session. Casey set a quick time fairly early on his 14th of 21 laps.
Weather looks nice with 41% humidity, which is pretty high for these here parts

One of these days, I want to see Rossi, Stoner, Pedro, Dovizioso and Lorenzo in a 5-way race long battle for the lead. :)

Got video up for free practice two and the weather has changed. The umbrellas are out and the session is wet. Doesn' look to be raining hard, if at all and maybe it's just one of those afternoon showers?

The session stayed wet but might have beem drying out a bit toward the end? Our boy Nicky Hayden topped the charts but the man to watch was Andrea Dovizioso. He was fastest for nearly the entire session.
Just after 10:00 here in the desert, about the time the race will start on Saturday night. Noice!
I posted FP1 times for FP2 - idiot!

Oh what a dumbass! Here is the "real" FP2 results.

I think Stoner may pull this one off - the pain is usually less at home and Aussies are tough on their home turf.

Results of free practice 3 and it's the right ones this time. :o
Stoner led most of the whole time until Nicky threw down some hot laps. Qually in just a few hours and I can't wait!

Tuning in to the video a bit early for MotoGP qualifying, I see the 125's are up and it's a bright sunny day and the track is perfect. Cool!

The scoop in the qual broadcast is that the single tire manufacturer rule will be announced later in the day and that Michelin did not even submit a proposal according to the rumors.
With 14 minutes to go, Rossi crashes and it looks unlikely he can get back to the pits and back out to improve his time. Currently he's in 10th. The 800's have broken the all time fastest lap set in the 900 era set by Nicky H. Currently NH is on top and also broke his own record.
This could be a dang interesting race. 5:49 left and Rossi does make it back to the garage. Will he go back out? Not looking like it. Still 4 min to go and time for the money laps. Rossi has his helmet on. OMG! He'll get one flyer. No wait, he's out too late and won't get around before the flag.
Stoner to the top with 20 seconds left! Ohhh! Lorenzo bumps Hayden from 2nd to 3rd on the grid but Nicky starts from the first row. Brilliant session. Man, I love this stuff. Rossi starts in 12th and appears to have hurt his neck a bit?

Watched the 250's but now the video has gone missing. Ten minutes to race time and I'm gonna cry if it doesn't come back up. :ack2:
<edit>
9:54 and I just got back in. Yea!!!

No big surprise for Stoner taking the win. Was was a surprise was that Hayden hung right on his back wheel for about ten laps. Poor little Pedro crashed out on the first lap.
Shame that Nicky fell off the pace so bad but he did manage to hang on for a podium finish. What a ride by Rossi coming from 12th to 2nd. Toseland looked like he belonged in MotoGP and the battle for fourth between him, Dovi and Lorenzo was pretty great.
Just two more rounds to go. I don't want it to be over. :(
