Well here we go again! The family and I were on vacation for the last 8 days in Michigan and Indiana..... arrived home... one day of work and realized I have a race Saturday!!! How's that for conditioning!
I worked on the bike for about 5 hours last night fixing all the things i broke at the Globe race.... oil change, tire pressure, chain and bike clean, sticky throttle, lube cables, air filter, broken wire behind headlight..wouldn't allow starter to work......
You really have to love this sport to put the time in to keep things running and reliable! Here's a link to the flyer for this weekend

We are ditching the kids with nana and Christa and I are getting a hotel in Mammoth tonight... gonna get registered and tech'd tonight so I can beat the rush on Saturday morning....
I will throw out an update when i get back! Everyone have a good weekend!

Well I managed to get registered Friday night but just missed tech inspection.... which meant an early Saturday morning. I found a hotel room in Mammoth..... for $40. Wow! Well it was cute...built in the 30's......

This race had a 27 mile lap.... we had to do 2 laps and the pros had to do 3.... we did the dead engine start with hands over our head again!

I managed a good start and kept a good pace.... I managed a 1st place in my class! I was so excited! My first first place ever in racing.....!! :thumbup1:
They provided us with cold towels for our neck and cold water at the finish!

Oh Hey! That's very cool! (sorry for the not so snappy reply)
I used to really dig seeing my name in Cycle News back in my racing days. First as a teenager racing moto-cross then 20 years ago during my nifty road racing career. My mom had most of the clippings from my younger days but after she died, I could never find them. The road racing ones, I think I threw out when I got divorced and wish I hadn't. I even had a write up in the Arizona Republic once for being a female racer. That one may be stuffed in a box somewhere. Wait? Maybe I do still have some old Cycle News'. Haven't looked in that big box of papers for 10 years! :)
