Oh fer shure! The way things are looking, nobody has shown themselves to be clearly dominant so far which makes for an interesting championship. Pedrobot seems like he might have something going on but for some reason, I don't think he can keep it up all season. I'm predicting he's still going to be running at the front but it's only going to be a matter of time until he takes himself and someone else out. I kind of thought he and Jorge would tangle this last time out but it never materialized.

I'm thinking Lorenzo will be a contender all season long and the Yamaha's strong. The Michelin's seem to be ahead of the Bridgestones at this point of the year and I'm guessing that if Valentino hadn't made the switch, he would have taken Estoril?

I've been surprised by the Tech-3 squad and the resurgence of Colin Edwards and the emergence of James Toseland. Who would have thought that CE stepping down to a satellite team would see him stepping up on the track? I've been surprised that the Suzuki's haven't showed a little stronger although Capirossi's last corner bang-it-though pass to take 5th in Jerez gave me hope, the results in Estoril didn't.

It was nice to see John Hopkins looking better on the Kawi in Portugal. (I ride a Kawasaki! :)) but Ant West has done nothing but show poorly all season. I'm hoping like heck Rog Hayden gets a few more wildcard rides this year, IMS and Laguna Seca at least?

Like I commented over on the SPUDtv joint, Melandri on the Duc has been a disappointment this year. After his big crash and stong finish at Laguna last year, I thought he might be a contender this year but not. I'll say again that NH could ride it! I read in the headlines that Mad Max has offered to do some testing on the Ducati to see if he could figure out what's going on. I'm sure Stoner wonders if it's him or the bike that seems to have lost the plot.

FWIW, I hate the three week breaks between races and oh, what's up with Honda getting their sh*t in gear with the pneumatic motor? :)
