Well this weekend is the next race in the AMRA 2009 Season. The Arizona Trail Riders are hosting this race outside of Prescott AZ in Camp Wood. This has always been an epic event in the cool pines of northern AZ....

With one race missed due to illness I am still maintaining 2nd place in the points standings as of 4.2.09

I will post up with story and pics next week! :seeya:

Quite an interesting style there, Motoman! Didn't they used to call that a Flying W? :winky:

Looks like fun as hell.

Well I nailed a 2nd place in my class and 9th overall!!!! WooT! :thumbup1:

On the other hand got some bad news today... I had this horrible nerve ache in my shoulder for the last year.... I don't like going to the doc at all and waited till I couldn't stand it anymore.... well the orthopedic surgeon said i tore tissue in my shoulder and I need surgery. He's gonna let me race my last race before our summer break and then do surgery... so end of may I am off of a bike for awhile. He said 4 months total recovery.... ick!

Well here's a shot my son got of me at the start of the qualifier! Good times!

Great result there Greg! 9th overall is awesome. :cool-0014:

That really sucks about your shoulder though. I'm guessing the predicted 4 months total recovery time is for old ladies, not for an in shape off road racer like yourself. (no offense to old ladies either since I am one!)

Did this qualifier count for your regular season points? At last report, you were 2nd in the standings and another strong finish couldn't have hurt, especially if you finished ahead of the guy in first?

Be sure to post up info on your last race of the season. I'm pretty up on the local MX track scene but didn't really know this off-road enduro type stuff was even still going on. The last time I even rode a dirt bike (CR-250) was about six or seven years ago at SpeedWorld. All the places we used to go fun riding are all closed down. My ex-hub has two CRF-450's and a CRF-250 and even he hasn't ridden in 6 months because it's such a hassle to only go to a track. Hell, we used to ride at Power & Elliott all the way to Ironwood but it's mostly all houses now.

At any rate, I'm rambling. Congrats again on your finish in the qualifier and sorry to hear about the needed surgery. Good luck in the next round and for a complete recovery after you get cut on.
