Kind of a mixed bag all in one jumbled thread! There's some "other" noteworthy events going on this weekend. Didn't want anybody to miss anything good!
Up first, Grand-Am Rolex series. On Saturday with a mixed schedule.

Since it is one of those crappy races where SPEEDtv isn't showing F1 live, there's some other goodies on Sunday too. (conflict with FOX broadcast of F1)

And finally, GP2 races are usually shown at 3:00 so here's a chance to see it in the afternoon. These guys don't mess around!

Holy crap that's busy! I may go blind! How long did that take?
I plan to watch some of this. I sort of like the 6 hours of the Glen and as far as that series goes, it's one of my favorite races. On the motocross front, I've seen Glen Helen, Hangtown and am looking forward to this one too except it is on exactly opposite the tape delayed Formula 1 broadcast on FOX. It's a shame that Villapoto blew up his knee. Hope somebody else can step up.
I do have a plan, though. It's called multi-tasking!

An inside look into half of Dooberville HQ - the other half is top secret but there is another screen somewhere
I may even watch the GP2 race too. I can't say I've ever seen one from start to finish. I'll try but it's during my naptime. :winky:
Crap, there's probably even some NASCAR junk on to peek in on this weekend too? :o

Oh, you'll love the GP2 race. They really battle out there. Sometimes they take some roundabout routes to complete passes (or not) but it's pretty darn cool. Watch out for Romain Grosjean.

Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to watch.
Just came here now before heading out to the store to whine. I was watching the Grand-Am race from Watkins Glen and at the end of the first hour, it was just getting good. All kinds of passes, the DP's mixed up with the GT's and it's like all cool and stuff.... then they ended the early coverage for an ARCA race. Bad timing.

Speed is just preparing us for next weekend when they interrupt Le Mans for Cup practice (at least, that was how it was last year).
Ooo, the 99 and 58 got into a bit of a schmozzle. Looked much more like Donohue's fault (#58). It wasn't a total brainlock but he messed it up as he got on the curbs at the heel of the boot.

Both of the cars in that collision are out. Tough luck for both.
This is going to be a great battle for the lead between the Ganassi 01 and the Suntrust 10. Lexus v. Pontiac.
Penske isn't that far back, either, with Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard.

Just got in from a trip to the grocery and auto parts store. Need to eat and change my oil, filter and plugs!
Ok, I'll eat now and work on my car tomorrow. About an hour left in the race then Indycars. :driving:

Hmm, what are you having?
Yeah, I can't wait for the Texas race. It's good to have a live Texas IndyCar race for once.

01 and 10 are in. The Suntrust team lost time on the stop and then had a minor collision with the 2nd Brumos car.
There you go, Matt Connolly. I thought he tried to do a lap backwards. :P
The Penske Porsche takes 2nd from Angelelli on the pit sequence. Max is closing in quick on Timo, though.

This won't help the Stevenson Pontiac GT.

Hmm, a possible Ferrari-powered DP to come? That'd be cool.
Pruett just gained about 2 seconds on Angelelli the last couple of laps.
Better watch out, Max. Timo is coming for you.

Hmm, what are you having?
Pizza but it's not delivery, it's DiGiornos. :winky: Maybe a couple of bottles of Dos Equis Amber too? (in a proper glass, of course) My g/f is doing some weird diet (Adkins) crap so we are eating separately
Hey, if I suddenly disappear (again) it's because my connection is all over the place. It just blinked out for 15 minutes but is back up and running at full speed. I called them this morning and they are coming out on Tuesday. I've been putting up with this for 2 months and I've had it.
It's ten of five here and my tummy is grumbling.

Ah, Dos Equis and pizza. That's a nice combo (well, I don't drink alcoholic beverages but I like those "Most Interesting Man in the World" ads). :thumbup1:
Ah, I hate when that happens with an internet connection.

FCY. It's game over.
Wow, they were low on fuel, too?
Pruett/Diaz take the victory. Dirk Werner and Leh Keen take GT.

Push him or pass him? That was funny!
Dramatic finish in spite of doing it under the yellow. I like Scott Pruett but you know me, I always like to root against Ganassi.
See you in a bit in Texas. :thumbup1:

Yeah, amazing the career he's carved out when it could have ended much too prematurely many years ago.
Is it me or does Grosjean have James May's hairstyle?

I remember Giacomo Ricci from Atlantics a couple of years ago.
Let's light this candle.

Told you he'd be one to watch. He can make some super passes. He can also be a little over ambitious in battle like there.
Parente tried to make a pass on Petrov. No can do and now loses spots.
Holy schnikeys. Petrov gets by both Filippi AND Hulkenberg on the final corner while the latter two were battling.
LittleAlguy
06-07-2009, 03:52 PM
I've complained about certain series being quick to go FCY for minor incidents or cars safely off track or even off line. That's neither.
LittleAlguy
06-07-2009, 04:10 PM
That was quite ambitious.
Parente spins it in Turn 8.
Clos with the passing attempt of fail.
Now THAT is a Kablammo.

Game over for Grosjean. He's stopped on course. Quite unusual mechanical attrition in this race.
Valerio, Villa, and Hulkenberg with a fine battle. Villa gets shuffled back even further behind Maldonado.

Eh, Petrov didn't need that mirror. He got the win in the feature.
