There's already two pages of posts over at AboveTopSecret. http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread350487/pg1 and I saw it all over the news.

ATS has the best debunkers around so by tomorrow, their analysis should be complete, or at least well under way. My guess is that it's Chineese lanterns or some similar hoax? I find it all very interesting but probably won't believe a darn thing unless the mothership flies over downtown at noon or lands on the White House lawn and I see it with my own eyes! :)

I'm not too excited about it being anything real but with the recent Texas sightings making the news a few months ago and this already all over the Internet, it's fun to speculate.

I'll certainly be following the story but just realized it's almost midnight and I should be sleeping. :001_unsure:

Now that the media has had their 15 minutes of fame with this story and everyone has poo-poo'd the whole thing as a hoax, there's an interesting thread going on over at ATS (http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread352641/pg1) that discusses the admission of a hoax is indeed a hoax in and of itself. Disinformation maybe?

They do bring up some valid points like why this guy didn't get arrested and that the plain helium balloons claimed to have been used don't have enough lift to carry a road flare.

Some people are either so desperate to believe or not falling for the official explanation. Which is it?
