I don't expect much to be different this round. Suzuki's at the front followed by Yamaha's.

An update on Rog Hayden has just hit the wires

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Hayden Undergoes a Second Successful Surgery
Press Release Issued By Monster Energy Kawasaki (April 24, 2008)

Irvine, Calif. (April 24, 2008) – Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Roger Hayden underwent successful surgery on Thursday morning in Louisville, Ky. to repair his left pinky finger.

Doctors removed some bone and continue to clean out debris that was inside his finger, threatening infection. Since the doctors don’t think they have fully removed all the debris, there is possibility of a third surgery to control any lingering infection.

“We are glad that things are moving along,” said Preston. “We are in no hurry or rush to get him back on the bike. We want him to heal properly and be at his best when he makes his return.”

His injuries, which he received while riding in the AMA Superbike qualifying session on Saturday, April 19, included a broken pinky and fractures of his pelvis. His pelvis has also been evaluated and will not need surgery.

An estimated return date is not expected until after he is released from the hospital.

If you would like to send get well wishes or correspondence to Hayden, please send to:

So is the FX class what's going to turn into the "Daytona Superbike" class and be the premier event? :ack2:

Only 12 riders but three different bikes in the top three. Check out 3rd place! Larry Pegram on a Ducati 848! Now that's interesting.

On the other hand...The Superstock class has a nice full grid. Last weekend at Barber, this was the best race of the weekend with Herrin stealing the win from Bostrum at the last minute. But where's BBoz now? 10th and Zemke is leading the way on the Honda. Cool!

Amazing last lap draft pass on Mladin at the line in race 2. It would be nice if somebody else could play in the Ben and Mat show but there was some good action further down the field.

Well, the news is that both the Hayden boys are hurt pretty bad this weekend. First it was Rog breaking his pelvis and losing a finger and poor Tommy has to have surgery to put his ankle back in place.

Martin Cardenas ended up with a broken femur in the tangle with TH. On TV, it just looked like he went in way too hot but the story on SPEED is that he's claiming to have had a brake problem and also been hit.

AMA FX: Cardenas Undergoes Surgery
...The cause of the racing incident is not yet clear and Martin has been under sedation much of the time since the crash. Cardenas did say that he didn't have any brakes and that he had made contact with another rider immediately before reaching the corner where he crashed.

AMA officials examined the bike after it came in on the crash truck and found that the front brake system was functional, with the lever intact and all brake pads in place; the brakes operated as they should when the lever was pulled.
