Greetings and thank you for your interesting in joining the fine DooberVille community. Here is how the sign-up and getting started deal works.
To post on our board, calendar and view other Doober's profiles, you must register with a working email address and reply to the confirmation email we send you by clicking the link that it includes (easiest). You can also copy and paste it or type it into your browser. There is nothing sinister about this and we have no hidden motive. (clicky for Privacy Policy (http://www.dooberville.com/forums/showthread.php?p=72#post72)) It is to protect DooberVille from the onslaught of Skynet's automated robot hoardes that will create user accounts and post crappy spam or pr0n in the forums.
If you do not receive your confirmation email within 5~10 minutes or so, make sure to check you spam folder. The subject of the message will be:
Action Required to Activate Membership for DooberVille Discussions
The evil Bot Army has gotten smart enough to get this far without human intervention.
DooberVille has one final defense is to limit the negative effects of what a well written of pukey Bot can do and that is to limit, for a brief time, what newly confirmed Doobers can do. All new community members will be PROBIES until they have made five (5) regular posts.
PROBIES (Doobers with less than 5 posts)
Cannot send PM's (private messages) to other members
Can't post new topics (start threads)
Can't post or vote in polls
Cannot use signatures
Cannot use animated avatars
Can't post events on the calendar
Can't give reputation
Can't rate threads
ADDED 5/1/2008
Can't have photo albums
Can't customize profile
If you have a problem getting registered, use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page to send us an email.

After a PROBIE had made 5 posts in existing threads, they are automatically promoted to Full-Fledged Doobers and can doo all the things that Doobers doo! You will need to log off and wait up to 60 minutes for your promotion to take effect.
