MotoGP.com is reporting that Kawasaki and Colin Edwards have "talked" about 2009. Veddy interesting!
Sad news is Kawi has confirmed that they will not be fielding wild cards in the two US rounds. My guess is because Rog won't be fit?
Edwards´ Kawasaki discussions confirmed
Colin Edwards´ future in the MotoGP World Championship after 2008 is still to be decided, and the Tech 3 Yamaha rider has been engaged in preliminary discussions with some of the main players in the paddock. The `Texas Tornado´ has been linked with one of the seats thus far not confirmed for 2009, that currently occupied by Anthony West in the Kawasaki team.

Yeah, I read everywhere that with his current results Tech 3 should re-sign Edwards but the fact is Colin doesn't work for Tech 3. He works for Yamaha, who pays his salary, and is on loan to Tech 3. From what I'm hearing I don't think he's in the budget for '09 unless Ponchoral (sic?) can come up with the sponsorship to field the riders of his choice.
I'd say Kawasaki or even Ducati could use the guy to find a direction, although Ducati isn't famous for listening to rider input.
There is a rumor out there that Yamaha want Hayden - I'd be pleased to no end to see Nicky in any garage other than Honda's. Pedrosa owns Honda now.

Not sure he is ever going to be fit again. Pretty messed up. Gonna be hurtin for the rest of his life. "Polaris World" one off [I believe] ride just plowed him. The boys are being way to nice on this one. Criminal / Civil action is in order.
Having said that... He is gonna give it all he's got. Tommy ain't doin to well either. Hope they both make it back soon.:(:willy_nilly:
Originally Cardenas was to ride if Hayden couldn't, Kawasaki decided that they are having problems enough without wild card riders.
I'll hope the criminal/civil action bit is a joke, the day that enters racing I'm out.

You think CE would go to a B'stone ride? No doubt a possibility since switching to another brand for AMA actually entered his mind. What's his forum saying? Prolly no chance that either Ducati or Kawasaki would go to a split garage either, that's definitely something only Rossi could pull off.
I think Edwards wants a ride in GP. There is yet another rumor out there that Edwards has been or may be offered the Xerox Ducati SBK ride - theoretically Bayliss was asked who should replace him and he named Edwards. Colin has stated he has no desire to return to SBK but if one seat tempted him it must be this one!
My guess would be that he would gladly switch to Bridgestones to be able to stay in GP if that was the only option.
The latest:

I was afraid the Xerox Ducati offer might lure Edwards to SBK, but he's a man after my own heart - MotoGP or nothing :) Sounds like he's more likely to be in green next year, but much better than that streetbike series imo.
He also implies that Hayden is nearly a done deal at Ducati.

Well where do you draw the line? When motive is to use a race bike as a deadly weapon and just plow somebody.... The guy like never used the brakes? :angry-004:
Your right... the day this type of behavior is tolerated on track... We're all out. I hope DMS doesn't turn our sport into "bump draft" or "move em over" ya know?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Gary was talking about "criminal/civil action"? That would be like a boxer losing a fight and having his opponent arrested for assault. I doubt the idiot(s) that took Hayden(s) out had motive or intent to do so, they just brainfarted and f'd up. Racers know the risks.

Well, we will never know for sure. If they just brainfarted then I understand. But, it is kinda ironic that they listed "Polaris World" as their primary sponsor [roger incident]. I have never seen "Polaris World" represented before in AMA. It is also strange that both Hayden kids recieved serious injuries on the same weekend. Coincidence? Possibly. I am open minded but... somethings are more difficult than others when it comes to suspicion. Sure I and we need to be careful but, I have my doubts at this point. Even the Pedrosa incident with Nicky in 06 still looks highly suspicious to me. So for what ever it is worth I have this feeling....
I am trying to say that a race track is not the right place for those whose primary interest is not racing. If anger management is an issue then it definitely is the wrong place. If you are a brain fart addict then we excuse you but, politely ask you to reconsider what you are doing and why? Can we offer any assistance to help you stop screwing up? We would all be more than welcome to assist!
Come on, KK, Cardenas is a good rider and CLEARLY had a brake problem when he torpedoed Tommy. You could see had the rear brake locked and had nowhere to go. And Cardenas rides for Ulrich's team - Polaris World might be a personal sponsor.
I read my earlier message where I said Cardenas was to ride if Hayden couldn't - that should have been Chaz Davies, not Cardenas!
I thought I posted it somewhere, but have you heard the 'Biaggi to D'Antin Ducati for '09' rumor? Theoretically Alice is upset that there is no Italian on the team, feel they are getting no return on their investment and have specifically requested that assho..., er, I mean Max to ride one of the bikes next year.
While I can't stand Biaggi I wouldn't mind seeing him in the series, and his smooth style may suit the 800s. Whether he can tame a D'Antin Ducati is another matter...
